“How can you otherwise write in an endangered language? How can writing a poem be reconciled with the knowledge that in a few generations your message will become illegible?

Thanks for the links. i read somewhere that about once a week a language becomes extinct. some may be regional dialects but non the less once a week (on average) a way of communicating becomes no more. that would of course mean that way of living is no more. that would mean a whole peoples identity would be no more. harrowing, no?

  2. I would venture to say “Caramelo,” by Sandra Cisneros, but it’s not a book of poetry, even though Cisneros does have a poetry book.
