let the summer reading begin!

read three books last night:

The Pink, by Kyle Schlesinger (Kenning Editions, 2008). A very beautiful little chapbook.

Air Pocket (Hanging Loose Press, 1989)
Volatile (Hanging Loose Press, 1999)

both books by Kimiko Hahn. quite a difference between her first book, Air Pocket, and Volatile, mainly that Volatile has a volatile political focus; you can see the influence of Muriel Rukeyser and Adrienne Rich on the book. Hahn’s poem, “Blindsided,” is one of the best experimental political poems I’ve ever read.
