with all the drama, i want to blog instead about a wonderful press that is new to me: CHAX PRESS, based in Tucson, Arizona. yes i know they’ve been around since 1984, but i’ve only been around the poetry world since 2005, so stop laughing at me!
altho i have linh dinh’s American Tatts and Myung Mi Kim’s The Bounty (both from Chax) i didnt really check out their catalog or website until i recently received a package of 5 new Chax books. it’s really quite amazing how many writers (that i admire) that they’ve published over the years. there was some talk about how a contest/press gains ‘prestige’ and at least to me the press’ catalog is one determining factor. dont you think?
currently working on a review of John Tritica’s SOUND REMAINS.
